Living in Florida for 40 years, I'm am enjoying my first spring in the Blue Ridge Mountains, seeing many of the flowers I remember as a child.  I am excited to see even more as the season turns to summer.  Have my fingers crossed that I will find lilac in my neighborhood.

More to come.....thanks for reading my blog today.

On a side note, I am having lots of difficulty posting comments on blogs, and replying to comments made here..  Please know that I read and value your comments.

Last winter, I spent three months on the east coast of Florida.  It involved many walks on the beach, and my painting was full of seagulls, and seascapes.

Roadside Floral, Small Oil Painting, Daily Painting, 9x12" Oil on Canvas

When I go on my daily walk, up and down the country roads, I marvel at the gorgeous wildflowers and weeds (?) I find.  It was on these walks, that I discovered the lovely daylilies I planted in Florida, grow wild in the mountains.

So that is the inspiration for this painting, as I gathered these blooms from the ditches and easements along the country roads.

I plopped them in a favorite piece of pottery and started painting.

This piece is 9x12x.75"
