Sunflower Painting, Field of Sunflowers, Small Oil Painting, Daily Painting, 6x8" Oil Painting, SOLD

Sunflowers always make me smile!  This little painting is no exception!

SOLD

I used both a brush and knife on this piece.  I wanted some texture, and also vibrant colors.  I tried to make the colors play off one another.

Sometimes, painting comes much more easily than others.  I painted this and one other landscape that I am happy with.........and then the bottom fell out!  I wiped  and wiped and wiped.  I couldn't seem to do anything right!  Finally I turned to acrylic pouring as a distraction.  I have been doing pouring exclusively for the last few weeks.

I am hoping this little journey into a related, but different type of work, will get me back on track again.  More to come!

Thanks for viewing my blog today!

Flower Painting, Daily Painting, "Sunshine Mix" by Carol Schiff, 8x6" Oil SOLD

Today's flower painting is a little reminder that spring is not to far away! It seems like this must be the longest winter in the history of the world!
SOLD
I liked the fresh brushwork and the abstract shapes in this painting

I like painting flowers because I love the vibrant colors and I can make the shapes whatever I want them to be.  Most of my flower paintings are free of detail and stress.  I almost feel like I am playing when I paint them.  The next time you are close to tearing your hair out, I highly recommend, step back and take a deep breath.....and work on a flower painting!

Don't forget to pin it!

Hydrangea Painting, Blue Floral Painting, Still Life Painting, Daily Painting, Small Oil Painting, Palette Knife Painting, SOLD

SOLD

I picked these hydrangea from my garden and was compelled to paint them.  Hydrangea are probably my very favorite flowers and I love the summer months when my home is surrounded with their massive blooms.

I wanted to keep the painting as simple as the pitcher and mug.

For me, keeping it simple usually means "palette knife".

I have a big sale going on my Etsy site , with 40% off original oil paintings.  Don't miss this opportunity to have an original oil painting in your home, at a fabulous price!

This original painting is sold, but it can be ordered as a giclee print on canvas, paper or wood.

Enjoy your day!

Lamb Oil Painting, Small Oil Painting, Daily Painting, Palette Knife Art,

This is one of my earlier paintings, of a small lamb, walking a Scottish moor.

I painted with palette knife and brush and tried to get lots of texture in it.  I liked the rugged  feel.  I have never been on the moors, but I think they would feel rugged and cold and windy.

I painted a ram a few months ago, which I like to think is this lamb's daddy.  You can view it here

Have a wonderful week!
